Summary
- The B.O.B Control is a building unlocked at Builder Hall level 9. The B.O.B Control does nothing when initially built, and will only serve as a distraction defensive-wise. However, once upgraded to level 5, it enables the B.O.B's Hut to be built in the Home Village, allowing B.O.B to function there.
- Upgrading the B.O.B Control does not take time or resources, but instead, a certain prerequisite must be completed (and the Master Builder or O.T.T.O must also be available to upgrade the building). To upgrade the B.O.B Control to level 5, four such prerequisites must be satisfied in any order.
- Gearing up a Cannon, Archer Tower, and a Mortar in the Home Village. This requires a level 7 Cannon, a level 10 Archer Tower and a level 8 Mortar respectively in the Home Village, and a level 4 Double Cannon, a level 6 Archer Tower, and a level 8 Multi Mortar in the Builder Base.
- Upgrading any troop to level 18 (which requires Star Laboratory level 9).
- Upgrading any defensive building in the Builder Base to level 9.
- Though having defensive capabilities, O.T.T.O's Outpost does not count as a defense for this purpose; Traps do not count either. And neither do Walls, so do not waste your gold trying to find an easier way.
- Upgrading the Battle Machine and Battle Copter to a combined level of 45.
Upgrade Differences
The B.O.B Control undergoes significant visual changes at level 3, 4 and 5.
- When initially constructed, the B.O.B Control is a stone platform with wood planks painted black hammered on as a base. There is a loose ramp made out of nailed wooden planks. There is a hammer and some nails, along with a curved machine part with a gold ring and fitting.
- At level 2, the hammer and nails are removed as a stone table is added and the machine part is attached to the table, a wooden wheel is leaning on the side of the table. Two metal latches are placed on the floor.
- At level 3, the table gains a wooden extension which covers the machine part. B.O.B's eyes, O.T.T.O's arm, and wind-up screw are placed on the table while the wheel is moved to the floor.
- At level 4, a structure resembling a builder hut is added on the platform, with four wooden pillars and stone wall with a window, concealing everything inside. The roof has a slot resembling an electric outlet with a spanner next to it instead of a saw and a hammer forming a cross.
- At level 5, an coil antenna with a golden base and a golden orb is added to the top of the hut, which resembles the antenna on O.T.T.O or B.O.B. When B.O.B is working, B.O.B Control will project lightning bolt symbol and it will be received by B.O.B's Hut.

Trivia
General
- B.O.B Control replaced O.T.T.O's Hut in the Builder Base 2.0 update. Despite the visual of each upgrade remains the same, quite a bit flavor got change beside requirement being more lax:
- The old description for each level is as follows:
- Before O.T.T.O is completed: Complete the below requirements to upgrade. Once all four requirements are completed, you will unlock Master Builder's latest invention: O.T.T.O!
- Level 1: Advanced technology requires advanced thinking! Completing some special projects back in Home Village will provide critical insights. Complete by Gearing Up three buildings in the Home Village.
- Level 2: Wheels can be hard to get right. Perfecting the Cannon Cart is a great way to make sure those axles are lined up. Complete by upgrading Cannon Cart to level 18.
- Level 3: Sufficient power is vital for any project and a fully built Mega Tesla can supply way too much of it! Complete by upgrading Mega Tesla to level 9.
- Level 4: Automation is tricky. Luckily, the Battle Machine is a totally safe and villager friendly platform to test things out on. Complete by upgrading Battle Machine to level 30.
- After O.T.T.O is completed: O.T.T.O completed! The Master Builder can now travel between villages! Just tap the Builder Hall and send Master Builder across the sea. You can always send him back by tapping Master Builder's Hut in the Home Village!
- The icons for each requirement used to be the gear from the gear up button and the sprite of Cannon Cart, Mega Tesla, and the Battle Machine. They are replaced with the stylized icons also used by Chief's Journey.
- The old description for each level is as follows:
- Since B.O.B Control requires gearing up all 3 buildings currently available to be geared up, the upgrade effectively requires players to have Town Hall level 10 or above as the Mortar gear up requires the Mortar to be level 8 which requires Town Hall 10.
- Since B.O.B Control requires a level 9 defense, upgrading the Multi Mortar is often the most convenient choice, especially since a level 8 Multi Mortar is already required for B.O.B Control level 3. Using a Book or Hammer of Building is beneficial, as it allows you to bypass the lengthy upgrade time.
- Since B.O.B Control requires a level 18 troop, it may seem tempting to unlock the Electrofire Wizard, which starts at level 17, and upgrade it once. However, the Electrofire Wizard requires a fully maxed Star Laboratory to upgrade. So unless you have a Hammer of Building, you should instead upgrade the main troop of your preferred strategy (such as the Baby Dragon when you're using a mass Baby Dragon strategy.).
- The B.O.B Control at level 3 has an inconsistency in which the parts for the O.T.T.O are available, including a large eyepiece, an arm, and especially the wheel which are different from B.O.B's.
- There was a bug that makes completing the "Gear Up all 3 buildings" requirement impossible after merging the geared up Cannon and Archer Tower into Multi-Gear Tower as the game only checks for if they exist or not in the February 2025 update. It has been fixed in the March 2025 update.
Comparisons
- The B.O.B Control has the same amount of hitpoints and build time as a Builder's Hut from the Home Village.
- The B.O.B Control is the only building that requires other non-central buildings to be upgraded to a certain level or modified to be upgraded, unlike all the other buildings, which take time and cost resources and central building level.
- The B.O.B Control, the Battle Machine Altar, and the Battle Copter Altar are the buildings in Builder Base that have the least amount of hitpoints.
- The B.O.B Control and the X-Bow are the only upgradable buildings in Builder Base to have the fewest levels, which is 5.
- The B.O.B Control is the fourth Builder's Hut that does not cost gems, the others are the Builder Hall, O.T.T.O's Outpost, and B.O.B's Hut on the main Home Village.
