Earthquake spell lvl.3 drains 10% of hitpoints (never mind the 12% lvl.4), so dropping 10x on any town hall will bring it down: what am I missing, or is this the replacement for lightning strikes on your dark elixer storage?

That was in the Air Sweeper update, and it is possible for a TH10 to find a TH7.
This in no way means that it is impossible to be matched with a Town Hall more than two levels above or below yours.

These links say that you are unlikely to see THs beyond +-2 levels.Â
I am a 10, >lvl 130. In actual in game play I sometimes see TH 7 and have dropped to silver league to test this. It is very rare. I have never seen below TH 7 in recent months.Â

This interview is with the BEST TH2 in the game. He discusses matchmaking changes and states that he now only sees with in two town hall levels.Â
Now, in order to destroy a Town Hall with spells you would have to get maxed out spells which means TH 10. And you would have to face TH 5 or lower. This is no longer possible given recent updates. I.M.P.O.S.S.I.B.L.E. End of story.Â
Unlikely != I.M.P.O.S.S.I.B.L.E. End of story. Feel free to unfollow the thread if you so desire.
Two points:
It also doesn't hurt to point out that it's not going to happen in multi player matches, which has been largely ignored in this discussion. So don't be mad bro
Of course it doesn't hurt to point out that TH10s will likely never see a TH5 to test this out on. But three times now you've attempted to say it is impossible, which it clearly is not in any statistical sense. Feel free to point out it is extremely unlikely, or that you nor anyone you know has seen a TH5 as a TH10 since the update. But in the same way as you, and probably anyone you know, have never actually flipped a coin and had it land on its edge, that doesn't take away the fact that it is possible (and worthy of a discussion as to what happens when it does).
So will a EQ spell never take out a building? If you have a TH or other building that is almost dead will this spell not take it out? if so how does it take out walls? Based on the above example of a TH wouldn't this example of walls be accurate?Â
Max EQ spell 48%
 damage on walls | 4000 |  exaqmple lvl 9 wall |
Spell 1 | -1920.0 | |
Hit Points remaing | 2080.0
Spell 2 | -998.4 | |
Hit Points remaing | 1081.6
Spell 3 | -519.2 | |
Hit Points remaing | 562.4
Spell 4 | -270.0 | |
Hit Points remaing | 292.5 |
So when using an EQ spell it is best to be used before the attack on the TH/building inorder to get the most effectivness out of it?
Also this is in the trivia of the wiki page, again based on above example this dosen't seem to make sense.
EQ spell is for taking out walls and 4 earthquake spells WILL take out any wall regardless of level.
Its not made to destroy buildings though it might soften them up if they are near walls...

That's why there's the "needs confirmation".
