Level 1-15
Summary
- Frosty is the fifth pet unlocked, requiring the Pet House to be upgraded to level 5 (this requires Town Hall level 15).
- Frosty periodically spawns Frostmites, which do a low amount of damage but inflicts the frost effect on targets they hit, causing them to slow down. Frosty himself also inflicts frost effects on defenses and troops he attacks.
- Frosty prioritizes a target within 4.5 tiles of the Hero that Frosty is paired to. If the Hero is knocked out or removed from battle by a Recall Spell, Frosty behaves like a troop with no preferential target; they will attack the nearest building to them regardless of type, and will turn and attack enemy units if they become aware of any nearby and can fight back against them.
- Frostmites prioritize defensive structures above all other targets, and will bypass all other types of enemy buildings and troops while any defenses remain on the battlefield. This is true even if they are under attack by enemy Clan Castle troops, heroes or Skeleton Trap skeletons. Note that like all troops that prioritize defenses, Frostmites do not consider the Clan Castle to be a defense regardless of whether it contains enemy troops, but do consider the defending Grand Warden and the activated Town Hall weapon (if any) to be defensive buildings.
Strategies
Offensive Strategies
- Due to Frosty's relatively fragile health, it is recommended to keep him at the back, allowing him to freely summon Frostmites, which will slow down buildings and support the army.
- Hence, it is preferable to pair him with the Grand Warden, since they both support other troops. The Barbarian King is a good alternative choice since he can serve as a straightforward tank for Frosty.
- Frosty's frost effect can help your army against buildings with high damage but with a slow rate of fire, such as the Monolith and the Eagle Artillery.
- Frosty and his Frostmites' frost effect work similarly to an Ice Golem slowing the building he is attacking, hence, he is not able to reset a single-target Inferno Tower. So a Lightning Spell or Freeze Spell will help.
- If using Frosty for a Warden Walk, you have to be careful since he will be standing in front of him rendering him vulnerable. As such, he can be great for smash style attacks, as he will be continuously staying behind your main army and spawning Frostmites.
Defensive Strategies
- Due to his low hitpoints, Frosty can easily be taken out by high-damage defenses such as Ricochet Cannons and the Giga Inferno, as they also have the ability to destroy the summoned Frostmites as well.

Trivia
General
- The name "Frosty" is a masculine name of Old Norse origins, meaning “frost”.
- The Frosty resemble the in-life pinniped species called "Odobenus rosmarus" (walrus). The walrus is a marine pinniped species that have large tusks and whiskers and considerable bulk and live in polar regions. Frosty also appears to have a different color scheme; his fur is glaucous, eyes are bright turquoise, nose is black, tongue is purple, eyebrows, mustache and beard are alice blue, and his tusks are cream-colored. This is in contrast to real-life walruses which are mostly brown or darker in color.
Comparisons
- Frosty is the third Pet to be based on a real life animal alongside the Electro Owl, Mighty Yak, Diggy, Poison Lizard, Angry Jelly, and Sneezy as well as the second Pet to be based on a mammal.
- Frosty and Sneezy are the only Pets that can summon subtroops.
- In this case, Frosty is the only one that summons ground units.
