Summary
- The Giga Bomb is a trap that is unlocked at Town Hall 17. It is separated from the Town Hall 16 Giga Inferno when it had merged into Inferno Artillery which no longer has a death bomb. The explosion damage and radius remains the same but it loses the poison damage and slowing effect on movement and attack speed, but in return, it gains a powerful knockback effect that affects most troops.
- Unlike other traps, it is visible to attackers and needs a total amount of housing space (18) within its trigger radius (3.5 tiles) to be triggered.
- Damaging spells like Lightning Spells and the Earthquake Spells cannot trigger this trap, and neither the Freeze Spell nor Overgrowth Spell will prevent the explosion from happening.
- Once triggered, it causes a massive explosion which heavily damages all units in its explosion radius. The resulting explosion knocks back or even flings up enemy units. Units like Dragons, Heroes and those with enough hitpoints such as Root Riders are affected by its knockback. Its area damage can affect both ground and air units at the same time, just like the fully upgraded Giga Tesla's death bomb, in addition to forcing troops to retarget.
Offensive Strategies
- If you want to avoid triggering this trap, deploy a few small units such as Barbarians, Archers or Minions to snipe off buildings.
- Otherwise, you can trigger it using a unit with 18 or more housing space with or troops that count to a total of 18 housing space, such as the Yeti, to waste the Giga Bomb. However, be wary of any traps and defenses nearby the trigger radius.
- If your main army is about to get blown up by the Giga Bomb, activate the Eternal Tome ability to prevent the damage done, otherwise they will suffer major damage or even get taken out if not timed correctly.
- Miners, and/or their Super version can avoid triggering the Giga Bomb, unless if they surface too early, and in which case if they do survive, they get knocked back upwards.
- The same principle applies to Diggy and the Battle Drill.
Defensive Strategies
- Pairing the Giga Bomb with the Tornado Trap will make both traps more effective, similar to placing the Tornado Trap near the Town Hall weapon for more troops to be affected by the death bomb. However, just like before, the Town Hall and Giga Bomb being visible to raiders means it telegraphs where the Tornado Trap usually is and the damage can be mitigated with the Eternal Tome, leaving only the secondary effects like poison damage and slow down or knockback to be effective.
- If the Giga Bomb is properly placed in a base layout, it can displace ground units into adjacent compartments which can get them stuck for a long time, unless if they have high damage to Walls to shorten the amount of time required to destroy them like Root Riders, or if they can jump over Walls like Hog Riders and the Royal Champion.
- Placing the Giga Bomb on the outside can be a waste, especially if a unit such as Dragon triggers it, the explosion will only damage the Dragon, and not the main army. Thus, it is best used inside the base where the army is most likely to enter from the base, where it will damage the main army if the attacker is not careful, increasing the chances of a successful defense.
Upgrade Differences
- When first placed, the Giga Bomb is a giant, tall vermilion stick of dynamite with a fuse and a skull symbol leaning to the right side. It is placed in a hole of the ground with a iron foundation, surrounded by a raised edge and and arrow-shaped pieces on all four corners, riveted on the sides. When triggered, the fuse ignites, and the dynamite itself flashes twice in a white tint. Once the fuse is fully charred, it lights up once more and causes an orange skull-like explosion, leaving a crater with a skull behind that lasts for a few seconds.
- At level 2, the dynamite becomes taller and grows wider to the top, making the dynamite slopes in. The fuse is slightly larger.
- At level 3, the arrow-shaped pieces of the metal base are now made of bronze.

Trivia
General
- The visibility of the Giga Bomb is similar to that of the Mines, Shock Mines, and Boom Mines from Boom Beach.
- However, the Giga Bomb needs a sufficient amount of housing space to be triggered within its trigger radius, and cannot be activated via spells unlike these aforementioned Mine types.
Root Rider flung by a Giga Bomb (animated with sound)
- If the Root Rider were to trigger the Giga Bomb, and if she gets flung by the resulting explosion, the Root Rider's root will be airborne despite it connecting into the ground, alongside the dirt.
- A bug existed in late November/early December where the Royal Champion got frozen in place after she was blasted by a Giga Bomb under certain conditions. This was later fixed in a maintenance break.
- For ground units, the farther the unit is on the Giga Bomb's explosion radius, the more distance that they get knocked back by the explosion, so long as they can survive the blast, and the knockback effect reduces if they get closer.
- However, if a unit is exactly at the center of the Giga Bomb, the resulting explosion will instead blast them upwards.
Comparisons
- The Giga Bomb has the largest gap between the release of the last new trap in terms of Town Hall level, which is six levels after Tornado Trap at Town Hall 11.
- The Giga Bomb has the fewest levels out of the traps, the other being the Tornado Trap, with both having three levels.
- The Giga Bomb is capable of hitting both air and ground troops at the same time, contrary to the regular Bomb, Giant Bomb or Bomb Tower's death bomb, which can only damage ground troops.
- It is the second trap that can only be placed once in the Home Village, the other being the Tornado Trap.
- The Giga Bomb is the second trap in the Home Village and the third overall to require a specific amount of housing space to be triggered, the others being the Seeking Air Mine (4 housing space for one unit) and the Spear Trap (10).
- It is the only trap that is separated from the building, in this case, the Town Hall.
- The Giga Bomb is the only trap in the Home Village that can give knockback to any troop in the game, except for Siege Machines. This ability to knockback everything is shared with the Log Trap from the Clan Capital, though the Log Trap can only target ground units, and its knockback capabilities are weaker than the Giga Bomb's.
- The Giga Bomb is also the third trap to deal knockback to some troops in the Home Village, with the first being the Bomb and the second being the Giant Bomb.
