Hero Skins are cosmetic items that customize the appearance of a Hero. Other than altering the visual appearance, Hero skins may change the animations of the Heroes as compared to the default skins, and may even change the appearance of troops spawned by the Barbarian King or Archer Queen.
Most skins are available through purchasing the Gold Pass and reaching the final reward tier in the Season Challenges, while others are only available through limited-time offers outside of the Gold Pass. Some older skins that were previously included in a Gold Pass may be made available for Gems, and can be purchased in the Shop through the "Cosmetics" tab or through the "Change Skin" menu for that hero. While not a hard guarantee, these skins are generally made available for Gems about a year after their initial addition to the game.
Availability
Below is a table that lists all Hero skins and the month in which they were available, in chronological order. Skins are divided into three classes:
Gold denotes a skin that was featured as a Gold Pass skin in Season Challenges.
Standard and Legendary denotes skins not available from the Gold Pass that were available only through a special offer. The associated footnotes denote further details on said special offer containing the skin.

Entries marked with a Gem denote that the skin is purchasable with Gems. All skins currently purchasable in this manner cost 1,500 .
