Summary
- Mines are splash damaging traps that are like the Bomb. They do low damage in a relatively large area, pushing troops back and depending on the mode set, they can damage either ground or air troops, but not both at the same time.
- They prove to be even better than the Bomb, due to being able to damage troops in 1 second compared to the Bomb's 2.5-3 second delay before effect, as well as the ability to be configured to either ground or air.
- Although not doing much damage, the Mines still have power in number and can take out support troops or hordes of low-hitpoint units.
- The Mine explodes after an enemy comes within 4 tiles of it, causing splash damage to every ground or air enemy troops within 5 tiles. This delay means that you'll want to place the bomb in an area where troops are likely to remain for a period of time, such as right next to a building they're attacking.
- Like any other traps in the Builder Base, the Mine does not need the Master Builder or O.T.T.O for construction, however, they are required for upgrading.
Strategies
Defensive Strategy
- Try to use Mines on the outside of the map, so it can severely damage sniping Sneaky Archers.
- Placing two Mines together will kill Sneaky Archers and Beta Minions of relative level. Three Mines together will kill Raged Barbarians of relative level.
- However, this uses up the majority of your Mines, so it is not recommended.
- Setting Mines to Ground would better protect your base if you are losing to ground attacks. Setting them to Air would protect your base from air attacks, if you are losing against them. Set half-and-half if you are losing to both type of attacks.
- You can stop a Bomber from throwing its first bomb by placing a Mine near the area, which allows your defenses to one-shot it.
- Use Mines set to air around your Firecrackers to help it take out swarms of Beta Minions.
- A single Mine set to air can stop a horde of Bats (spawned by Night Witches) from swarming your base.
- When set to Ground mode, it can stop a mass of Skeletons spawned by Drop Ships but only if other ground units, such as the Battle Machine, trigger the trap.
- Put Mines (in air mode) around your Builder Hall if it is located in a corner. This will disrupt any enemy Air Troops which approach your base from that corner. It is even more powerful if you place your Roaster and/or Air Bombs near the Builder Hall, which can quickly overwhelm enemy air troops.
Offensive Strategy
- Mines are weak against high-hitpoint troops such as a Baby Dragon, or a Battle Machine.
- Make sure to test for Mines near Walls when using the Bomber with another troop, such as a Raged Barbarian, so the Bomber can be successful in destroying the Walls.
- Make sure to stagger your troops when sending them into the base, especially if they are low-hitpoint troops, so a Mine cannot hit them all at once.
Upgrade Differences
- The Mine undergoes significant visual differences at levels 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9.
- At level 1, it appears to be a barrel strapped with ropes with a timer on it that has red wires connecting it to the barrel.
- At level 2, the ropes on the barrel are replaced with metal bands.
- At level 3, the barrel gets a raspberry red paint job.
- At level 4, the barrel turns into a spherical Mine.
- At level 5, the timer is removed and the Mine gains metallic studs on the surface. The band in the middle becomes smaller.
- At level 6, metal horns replace the studs.
- At level 7, the Mine gets a black paint job, a skull face appears on it, and the horns are replaced by grey studs.
- At level 8, the studs are replaced by spikes.
- At level 9, the Mine gains a bigger capsule shape. The sides have a center circle separated from the rest and what appears to be its mechanism and a glowing part. The spikes are gone.
- At level 10, the glowing part of the capsule is covered up with metal. The Mine also gains four spikes on each corner.
- When switched to air mode, the Mine will appear to float, supported by a metal chain.

Trivia
- The skull which appears on the level 7 and 8 Mines also appears on Air Bombs, Seeking Air Mines, and level 6, 7 and 8 Balloons.
- On level 1 to level 4 Mines, the timer's hand rotates as it ticks. This hand movement occurs even when the Mine is being upgraded.
- For levels 1-4, the dial on the Mine is circular in contrast of the Mega Mine which has square dials for the same levels.
- For levels 1-4, the timer’s hand is always reset to the top position when switching between ground and air mode.
- Its explosion animation uses the Bomb and the Air Bomb's explosion at the same time.

Summary
- Mines are a trap available in the Clan Capital, available at Capital Hall level 1 as traps that are already set into the Capital Peak when the Clan Capital is unlocked.
- When triggered, Mines explode and deal a small amount of splash damage to all ground or air units in the vicinity, depending on the mode it is set to. Just like Mines in the Builder Base, they can be toggled between attacking ground units and attacking air units, but cannot attack both at the same time.
Strategies
Defensive Strategy
- The Mine is effective at dealing unexpected splash damage to wipe out groups of lesser enemies, particularly Sneaky Archers, Skeletons or Minion Hordes. When used in large numbers, they are also capable of doing sizable damage to moderate-health troops like Super Wizards, though such a strategy may only be advised in districts where a lot of Mines are available.
- Against Sneaky Archers, one can place Mines in front of Walls, where Sneaky Archers are likely to be deployed; the Mine's explosion will damage or destroy entire squads.
- As a rule of thumb, the Mine is capable of instantly destroying Sneaky Archers up to one level higher than the Mine. This interaction mainly crops up in the mid-Capital Hall levels (at Capital Halls 5 through 7), where in lower-level districts, Mines may not be able to one-shot upgraded Archers due to being restricted by a low District Hall level.
- A simple baiting trick is to group together single-target defenses and hiding Mines in this group. Attackers may be enticed by such groups to use swarming troops such as Skeleton Barrels against this group, which will be wiped out by the Mine when it explodes.
- Similar principles can be used against Minion Hordes by grouping ground-only defenses and hiding a Mine set to air in them, though this may be easily circumvented by other air troops like Rocket Balloons.
- Mines and walls work brilliantly together: put a one-tile gap for ground troops to go in, and fill that gap with Log traps and Mines and Mega Mines to soften tanks and likely destroy the damage-dealers of an attack.
- Mines can also be used to soften moderate-health troops, allowing for certain interactions to favor the defense.
- A level 1 Rapid Rockets is unable to destroy a level 1 Rocket Balloon with a single volley, instead leaving it with 5 HP. Having a single Mine set to air will weaken the Balloon just enough for the Rapid Rockets to finish it (and any other Balloons that are hit) in one volley.
- A Rocket Artillery will leave a Super Wizard of equal level with only 40 HP remaining after hitting it once; if the Super Wizard is damaged by a ground Mine beforehand, it would instead perish.
Offensive Strategy
- It is imperative to check for Mines (and other traps) when using Sneaky Archers or a Skeleton army, lest they be exploded by a single Mine. Super Barbarians and Battle Rams are extremely suited for this purpose due to their low housing requirement. Higher-health troops like Super Giants can also safely take a Mine's blow.
- Non-lethal damage caused by a Mine can be quickly healed by a Healing Spell. Do note that it will not protect troops that are killed in one hit by the Mine, however.
Upgrade Differences
- The Mine undergoes significant visual differences at levels 3, 4, and 5.
- When initially rebuilt, it appears to be a barrel strapped with ropes with a timer on it that has red wires connecting it to the barrel.

- The Mine in Clan Capital exactly looks and works like the Mine in the Builder Base.
