Summary

  • Zappies are defending troops that are spawned by the O.T.T.O's Outpost upon its destruction. They cannot be used on attack.
  • Their level matches that of the O.T.T.O's Outpost; upgrading the Outpost will upgrade their hitpoints, DPS and number.

Strategies

Defensive

  • The Zappies are surprisingly strong with their damage. If preventing a two-star attack is unlikely, allow O.T.T.O's Outpost to fall early just to spawn the Zappies will have a greater chance at preventing a six-star attack, especially when O.T.T.O's Outpost being the last building standing will not defend itself and the attack will immediately end.
  • You can use the Zappies to force the troops to attack Walls to reach them, just like with defensive Archers in the Home Village. This is most effective if the enemy attacks with melee troops.

Offensive

  • Troops that do not have a preferred target will turn to target the Zappies even while attacking another building.
  • The Bomber's splash damage allows them to destroy any Zappies with a few shots along with other buildings and Walls.
    • Their ability, which allows them to throw a larger, potent bomb, allows them to cripple or instantly eliminate the Zappies
  • Raged Barbarians are excellent at finishing off Zappies as they are expendable units that are fast and can attract them.
  • It may be a good idea to clear the Guard Post troops early on in the raid - thus Power P.E.K.K.As (and other similar troops or the Battle Machine) will have an easier time tanking (for units such as Cannon Carts) because they have a much less chance of being stalled.
  • Abilities of several units are particularly effective at eliminating all the Zappies summoned by O.T.T.O's Outpost:
    • The Bomb Rush ability of the Battle Copter can be effective provided all Zappies are captured in its range. This often requires that the ability be charged up to level 3.
    • The Fiery Sneeze ability of the Baby Dragon can eliminate all Zappies provided they are close enough to be captured by the fireball and that it is sufficiently levelled.
    • The Skeleton Bomb ability of the Drop Ship can eliminate all Zappies while the Drop Ship is on top of O.T.T.O's Outpost. The summoned skeletons can also help finish off any Zappies that may not have been captured in the blast.
    • The Overcharge ability of the Power P.E.K.K.A can eliminate all Zappies provided they are close enough to be captured by the shockwave. Power P.E.K.K.As can kill Zappies at any level with Overcharge. However, this is often a waste of an ability.
