Level 1-5
Summary
- The Smasher is one of the default Guardians who is unlocked at Town Hall 18.
- The Smasher is a male royal blue anthropomorphic entity with glowing blue eyes, has four pastel blue patches on each of his arms, and has a golden wristband on each of his wrists. He wears a similar armor to the Longshot, except with an additional top most layer of the battlements gaining golden rims, and the shoulder pad is on his left arm instead of the right. On top of his head, he has a circular, three-plated dark stone roof with a golden spike on top. He wields a long, large rectangular cubic 8-spiked metal club with a golden spike, on his right hand. Due to his large size, he can attack both ground and air units. He attacks by swiping the club to the right or smashing his club onto his opponents, capable of dealing massive splash damage upon being hit.
- When tapped, the Smasher twirls his club from his right hand, puts it down and bumps his left fist twice onto his armor. If he was already on top of the Town Hall, he will also jump down from the bottom right side of the Town Hall.
- He has a violent temper and is fiercely protective of the Town Hall, and will become enraged, boosting his damage and movement speed by 60% if the Town Hall is destroyed. This enraged status persists until he is defeated.
- Upon death, the Smasher falls backwards to the ground and a burst of purple energy from the cracks is released, creating a defensive Rage Spell which buffs defensive buildings and units identically to Rage Spells from the Spell Tower. He will drop this Rage Spell regardless of whether he had enraged previously.
Strategies
Defensive Strategies
- The Smasher is one of the most durable of the Guardians currently in the game, and his health and damage per hit exceeds that of the Barbarian King, while the damage is more than that of the Archer Queen when it comes to damage per second.
- However, his main drawback is his very slow attack speed, which can overwhelm him, especially when dealing with medium-hitpoint units like Valkyries, but is compensated for his wide damage radius, similar to the Giant Gauntlet, just slower but permanent.
- When placed near the outside of the base, protected by a compartment of Walls, he can prove to be effective against armies and at the backend, can be very tough to deal with. Pair this up with sufficiently-spaced defenses and the correct Clan Castle troops like Ice Golems and the Smasher will wipe out attacking units in seconds.
- The Smasher can easily deal with swarms due to his massive damage, but his attack is slow that eventually he would get taken out. To prevent this, place splash-damaging or multi-targeting defenses like Scattershots and Bomb Towers to counter them. Traps and defending Heroes can also work in this regard.
- When defeated, the Smasher can increase the damage of both defending structures and units alike, as they can benefit in dealing against attacking units.
- The Smasher can outrange Flame Flingers, even if he is not considered a defense, as he will approach the Siege Machine and destroy it prematurely.
Offensive Strategies
- To prevent the Smasher from wreaking havoc to the player's army, the attacker can either use a Totem Spell to redirect his attacks away from the army, a Freeze Spell to stop him from attacking, an Invisibility Spell to protect units from being damaged, or an Ice Block Spell to tank for other units.
- Avoid using Poison Spells or Headhunters however, as the former will be ineffective and the latter will not target him, unless if there are no more Heroes remaining in the base.
- When the attacker manages to destroy the Town Hall before the Smasher, the latter will become enraged, rendering him like a powerhouse. However, if this process was reversed, the Smasher will drop the Rage Spell where it was taken out, and maintaining him at a long enough distance from major defenses would allow the units to take out the rest of the base and prevent said defenses from dealing more damage.
