Summary
- The Super Dragon is a Super Troop based on the Dragon. It can be unlocked by boosting the Dragon when the Dragon is at least level 7.
- Boosting the Dragon requires 25,000 Dark Elixir or a Super Potion, and doing so allows the Dragon to be boosted for 3 days. The level of Super Dragon you obtain from the boost corresponds to the level of Dragon you have.
- The Super Dragon is a stronger version of the Dragon that shoots bursts of flames, similar to the Roaster (a defense in the Builder Base). His flame bursts hit 10 times, each doing splash damage over a sizable area of effect (about 1-tile radius), with a 5x5 area with 21 tiles - an exact square with 4 corners removed.
- The Super Dragon appears similarly to his regular counterpart, but his entire body is made out of molten lava, which includes his wings, tail and head. His wing flaps are made out of fire. Instead of breathing out fire once every 1.25s, he attacks with a burst of flames once every 0.192s, with a delay time between bursts of 1.8 seconds.
- Because of the level requirement, players require Town Hall 12 in order to boost Dragons into Super Dragons. However, players require a level 8 Clan Castle or greater in order to get donated one, meaning not many people can get one.
- Super Dragons have no preferred target when attacking; they will simply attack the closest building. However, if they become aware of enemy Clan Castle troops, Heroes, or Skeleton Trap skeletons (either by being attacked themselves or by being near another friendly troop under attack), and can fight back against them, they will leave their previously targeted building and instead engage the enemy troops. Once all of the nearby enemy troops are defeated, the Super Dragons will proceed to attack the nearest structure.
- The Super Dragon is the subject of the Super Dragon Spotlight event, where he can be boosted for free for the duration of the event. Additionally, he is available at lower levels below his normal minimum level, so that the event is accessible to players as low as Town Hall level 8.
Strategies
Offensive Strategies
- The Super Dragon can be used similarly to Dragons and Electro Dragons where as many as possible are used to devastate a base. Super Dragons do very high damage per burst and can hit nearby buildings with it, allowing him to devastate compact bases quickly. Paired with a Rage Spell, the Super Dragon will be capable of destroying almost any building in a single burst.
- In terms of spell support, Super Dragons not only appreciate Rage Spells (see above), but also Haste Spells (to compensate their slow speed) and Freeze Spells to freeze or the Lighning Spell to stun threatening defenses such as Air Defenses and single-target Inferno Towers. Bat Spells can also help by distracting both these defenses, whereas the Skeleton Spell will only distract the latter defense.
Defensive Strategies
- Unlike other strategies relying on smaller units where one troop dying is not the end, each Super Dragon that dies is a 40 housing space loss, so protect each one with care. Therefore, you can support him with other air units by using normal Dragons, Electro Dragons, Baby Dragons or Balloons (only at higher levels, usually at level 7 and above).
- The Super Dragon's splash damage only affects multiple structures if they are directly adjacent to each other (no tiles in between them). As such, it will be wise not to have your base buildings touching one another in order to minimise the destructive power of the Super Dragon.
- The Super Dragon functions mostly the same as his ordinary counterpart, the Dragon - but with more hitpoints, higher damage, but taking up more housing space. Therefore, the usual counters against aerial units, if placed strategically, continue to provide adequate defense against him, such as Air Defenses, Seeking Air Mines, and Air Sweepers.
- Super Dragons can prove to be threatening Clan Castle troops, even if only one can be fit inside. Their flame bursts have a sizable area of effect, They are tanky to take out, and are capable of quickly defeating smaller units and can deal significant damage to higher-health units like other Dragons or the Archer Queen.
- Never put Air Defenses too close to each other, otherwise the attacker will get a lot of value from destroying them by using ZapQuake or the Super Dragon's splash burst damage!

Trivia
- You can have a maximum of 8 Super Dragons at one time in a complete set of fully upgraded Army Camps. This number increases to 9 if you include 1 that can fit into a level 8 or higher Clan Castle. On the battlefield, you can clone an additional 4 Super Dragons with four fully upgraded Clone Spells (three from the regular spell inventory and one from a level 10 or higher Clan Castle). These total to a maximum of 13 Super Dragons.

- For his base version, see Dragon.
- For his Home Village counterpart, see Super Dragon/Home Village.

Summary
- The Super Dragon is a troop available in the Clan Capital, available when the Super Dragon Barracks is constructed (this requires a level 2 District Hall in the Dragon Cliffs district, and hence Capital Hall level 7).
- The Super Dragon is the Super version of the Dragon that shoots bursts of flames similar to the Roaster defense in the Builder Base. His flame bursts hit 10 times, each doing splash damage over a sizable area of effect (about 1-tile radius).
- The Super Dragon appears similarly to his regular counterpart in the Home Village, but his entire body is made out of molten lava, which includes his wings, tail and head. His wing flaps are made out of fire. Instead of breathing out fire once every 1.25s, he attacks with a burst of flames once every 0.192s, with a delay time between bursts of 1.8 seconds.
- Super Dragons have no preferred target when attacking; they will simply attack the closest building. However, if they become aware of enemy defending troops stationed in defense posts (either by being attacked themselves or by being near another friendly troop under attack), and can fight back against them, they will leave their previously targeted building and instead engage the enemy troops. Once all of the nearby enemy troops are defeated, the Super Dragons will proceed to attack the nearest structure.
- Super Dragons also appear as defenders in Super Dragon Posts, sharing their stats with attacking Super Dragons, although weaker.
Strategy
Offensive Strategies
- Super Dragons are excellent for dealing damage to and destroying clumped groups of buildings, even more so than other troops that excel at dealing with grouped buildings such as Super Wizards. Due to his splash-damaging flames, the Super Dragon can damage buildings adjacent to 2x2 buildings that he targets.
- The Super Dragon will not be able to utilize his splash damage when targeting 3x3 or larger buildings. Buildings of this size include Rocket Artilleries, Inferno Towers, Blast Bows, District and Capital Halls, so plan around them to maximize their damage potential.
- As with other air units, keeping them away from anti-air defenses such as Rapid Rockets is ideal, especially if they cannot be destroyed directly or indirectly. If this is unavoidable, consider using them to soak up hits to let units like Rocket Balloons destroy these defenses safely. Inferno Towers should also be watched out for due to their high DPS against single targets.
Defensive Strategies
- The Super Dragon's splash damage works against 2x2 buildings, which is unfortunately (for a defender) the size of most defensive buildings in the Clan Capital. However, the splash damage is easy to prevent; simply avoid having any 2x2 buildings directly adjacent to other buildings (even a one-tile gap will suffice; also buildings that touch only at a corner will not be affected by splash damage). If they must be adjacent, make it as difficult as possible for a Super Dragon to reach them.
- The Super Dragon's lack of target priority allows one to use non-defensive buildings to guard vulnerable defenses from Super Dragon attacks. Most non-defensive buildings are 3x3 or larger in size, meaning that adjacent buildings will not be affected by splash damage if the building in front is targeted.
- Owing to the high damage per burst, a Super Dragon can deal substantial damage to a defense with each burst, often destroying weaker defenses in one burst, especially when paired with a Rage Spell. Accordingly, anti-air defenses should be spread out (not just spaced) in order to deny the opportunity for a Super Dragon to destroy them in quick succession.

- The Super Dragon's hitpoints were increased at levels 2-5:
- Level 2: 6,100 -> 6,300
- Level 3: 6,400 -> 6,800
- Level 4: 6,700 -> 7,200
- Level 5: 7,000 -> 7,600
- The Super Dragon's randomness in selecting an attack position was removed (making his pathing more consistent).
- Defending Super Dragons did not get either of the above changes, but instead had his initial attack on a new target delayed by 1 second.
