"Supercharging makes Buildings stronger!"

Summary

  • Supercharge is a feature that allows specific Buildings to be upgraded even further after they reach their max level, replacing the "Level" terminology with "Charge" when upgrading, starting from Charge 1 and so on. Each Charge can either increase the Building's hitpoints, production rate and capacity, or damage one at a time, and add a blue electric field around the Building to signify it has been Supercharged. The Supercharged stats are displayed in cyan to notify it has been boosted.
  • Supercharges can only be conducted at the current maxed building level. However, despite that all the resource collectors reach their maximum level at Town Hall 14, they cannot be Supercharged until Town Hall 16.
  • Currently, there are nine Buildings that can be Supercharged at Town Hall 16: X-Bows, Inferno Towers, Scattershots, Builder's Huts, Hidden Teslas, Mortars, Gold Mines, Elixir Collectors, and Dark Elixir Drills.
  • The available Supercharges on a max-level Building appear as black lightning-shaped pips when selecting the building. For every Supercharge completed, one blue bolt is visible.
  • Like normal Building upgrades, Supercharging buildings require a free Builder (or B.O.B).
  • There are two or three Charges depending on the Building type. Supercharged defenses will only have two charges, while resource collectors have three. The cost and time of each Charge is lower compared to normal upgrades, usually about half of the maximum upgrade.
    • For resource collectors, first and second Charges increase the capacity and production rate respectively, and the third Charge increases hitpoints. Each Charge costs less but takes more time.
    • For defenses, the first Charge increases damage by half of a normal level and second charge increases hitpoints also by half, except for Air Defense which boosts the damage for both charges. The first Charge costs more but takes less time than the second.
  • Supercharges last until a new level for that Building becomes available, which will remove all its charges and does not refund the resources spent on that Building, and the process be done again if the Building is at its new maximum level and new charges are made available for it.

Upgrade Differences

Supercharge Visuals

The appearance of all three charges on Elixir Collectors.

The appearance of the electric field changes at all levels.

  • Initially, at Charge 1, the Building gains a faint glow of purplish-blue on the ground surrounding it, occasionally emitting particles from the ground. A wave of electricity can pass through it as more particles are emitted upward and it swipes across the map with other Supercharged buildings, similar to higher level Walls. However, they go to the direction facing away from the Town Hall.
  • At Charge 2, the glow and electricity are now a blue color, and constantly emits electricity from the building. When the wave of electricity passes through, an aura also pulses upward. Buildings with only 2 charges start with this visual.
  • At Charge 3, the glow and electricity are now cyan and emits electricity at a higher rate.

Trivia

  • In the Supercharge user interface, there appears to be three charges of the Mortar, which does not make sense as the Defenses that can be Supercharged only have two Charges.
    • This was fixed in a maintenance break in December 2024.
  • If the Charges of any of the Supercharged buildings are removed, there will be a pop-up that says "These buildings have new levels available! All of their Supercharges have been depleted.", which also includes all the visuals of these Buildings that have gained new levels.
  • Sometimes, the achievements for Supercharging a required number of Buildings do not count as it normally would. For example, if the player has Supercharged two of each resource collector (Gold Mine, Elixir Collectors and Dark Elixir Drills), only the first two would be counted, while the latter would not.
